MANUEL VICTOR "Mannix" R. ORTEGA JR.

A basketball enthusiast, Ex-officio Board Member “Mannix” Ortega brought his old man’s administration closer to the hearts of his provincemates especially the youth sector by conducting and sponsoring basketball clinics and tournaments even before he entered public service.
He carries not only the name of his father, Gov. Manuel C. Ortega, but also that of his uncle Congressman Victor C. Ortega. With much optimism and perseverance, he dared the odds and successfully won the Chairmanship of Canaoay’s Barangay Council, San Fernando City, La Union during the October 29, 2007 Joint Sangguniang Barangay and SK Elections. He was later elected as the President of the City Association of Barangay Captains and lately as the President of the Liga ng mga Barangay of La Union.
Being at the helm of the provincial federation of barangays, he envisions to serve as the conduit of the forefront government units to avail assistance from the provincial government for their sustainable development programs. |
