Now on his second term, Board Member Balbin has actively participated in provincial affairs especially in tourism, trade and investment promotions. Foremost of which is the convening of the Tourism Stakeholders Meeting to gather and collate tourism related information in the aid of legislation. Likewise, he attended several trade marts to promote our province’s local products and sceneries.
He strongly believes that community involvement enhances leadership skills and potentials and could be an avenue for personal and social growth as it accords us the opportunity to mingle with people especially our less privileged constituents.
To date, he has sponsored and co-sponsored 14 resolutions. Most significant of which are the following:
Resolution approving the application of and accredit MACABATO BARO A NAMNAMA, Macabato, Aringay, La Union.
Resolution congratulating and commending Ms. Mary Grace Milgar and Ms. Ana Joy Fernandez both from the Province of La Union, who garnered both second place (silver medal) from 400 m hurdle (meter relay) and muay thai (fly, 51 kg.) respectively and setting aside the amount of Fourteen Thousand Pesos (p14,000.00), from the sports development fund, Seven Thousand Pesos each as their cash incentive.
Resolution expressing full support for the approval of the Universal Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People by the United Nations at its general assembly on September 17, 2007, at New York City, U.S.A. |
